Flat bottom pouch for TOM roasted nuts: a case study

For TOM Peanut Butter LLC, we manufactured a 150 g Flat Bottom pouch for their roasted nuts product line.

The line includes six products:

• Almonds

• Peanuts

• Cashews

• Hazelnuts

• Pistachios

• Mixed nuts

The goal was to create a consistent packaging format that looks neat on the shelf while being convenient for everyday use.

The Flat Bottom format was chosen for its stable construction and ability to maintain its shape. The flat bottom also gives the pouch a clean and distinctive appearance on the shelf.

 

🔹 Stable construction — maintains its shape and allows the lightweight pack to stand securely on the shelf without additional support.

🔹 Fully matte surface — a restrained appearance combined with a pleasant tactile feel.

🔹 Zip closure — allows the pouch to be resealed after opening if the nuts are not eaten all at once.

🔹 Side notches — make it easier to start opening the pouch.

🔹 Laser scoring — ensures a straight and convenient tear.

The result is packaging that combines a clean design, functionality and everyday convenience.

It also creates a consistent look across the entire nut range. Six different products now share one visual style, helping create a cohesive appearance on the shelf.
