WATER CONSUMPTION
How have we made a difference?
- Installed a cogeneration plant that uses natural gas more efficiently and minimizes CO2 emissions.
- Implemented an energy-saving program that cuts down our energy consumption and carbon footprint.
- Implemented the Clean Energy project to generate solar electricity.
- Reduced water consumption by replacing the cooling system with a more eco-friendly one.
- Installed a solvent recovery system to recycle and reuse harmful VOCs.
- Received ISO 14011 and SMETA 4 pillar certifications that attest to our environmental and social responsibility.
Eco-friendly and Innovative Packaging Solutions:
CIRCULAR ECONOMY
Producing recyclable packaging solutions, especially for single-use products, to lower packaging waste and marine litter.
CLIMATE
Using manufacturing methods that cut down CO2 emissions and save energy.
SAFETY
Protecting our consumers, especially children, from product contamination and tampering during production and distribution.

Steps to promote a circular economy:
- Designing recyclable packaging for easy processing;
- Developing laminates and flexible mono-material packaging for complete recyclability;
- Implementing upcycling initiatives for our collectible caps: BrickCap® can be repurposed as a constructor.
- SpinCap® can be used as a spintop or playing chip.
Environmental and climate protection
Efficient material utilization without compromising performance:
- developing high-barrier laminates and pouches without aluminum content;
- enhancing cap and packaging to minimize environmental footprint.
Utilizing renewable materials in production processes:
- high-barrier paper-based pouches;
- compostable laminates for dry
applications; - high-barrier bio-based bags, caps and laminates.

Gualapack towards sustainable development:
Pouch5 is the ultimate solution for your packaging needs. It meets the highest food safety standards of the EU and FDA, and is suitable for baby food.
Whether you need to pack hot, cold, or dairy products, Pouch5 has you covered. It seals in the freshness and quality of your products, keeping them safe from oxygen and moisture.
Pouch5 is also eco-friendly and easy to recycle. You can simply drop it off at any PP facility, where it will be collected, sorted, and processed into new materials.
Pouch5 comes in three convenient sizes: 70 ml, 90 ml, and 110 ml. We are also working on developing other sizes to suit your preferences.
Gualapack is your eco-friendly and high-quality partner for flexible packaging solutions. Our pouches are made of polypropylene monomaterial laminates that are strong, durable, and resistant to environmental factors. You can use our pouches for a variety of packaging purposes, such as cosmetics, coffee, and bulk seasoning.
Our multilayer laminates are made of recyclable and eco-friendly polypropylene mono-material, which is a sustainable material for flexible packaging. Using special polypropylene resins and innovative processes, we ensure that our laminates have high quality and durability, as well as excellent barrier protection for your products.
Moreover, our laminates are suitable for collection, sorting, and processing in special plants for polypropylene recycling, reducing waste and environmental impact. With our laminates, you can enjoy the benefits of convenience, performance, and responsibility.
Laminext stands out as a cutting-edge packaging solution that eliminates the need for an extra barrier coating. Crafted from bio-based polyethylene, a renewable and eco-friendly material, it matches the performance and quality of its fossil-based conventional counterpart.
The cap, spout, and inner layer of this product are crafted from bio-based polyethylene, a renewable material that matches the features of its fossil-based alternative.
These laminates are made from raw materials that comply with the BS EN 13432 standards for industrial composting. This means that the packaging can be disposed of in an eco-friendly way through composting. This environmentally friendly choice aligns with Gualapack’s commitment to responsible and eco-conscious packaging solutions.
These compostable laminates are non-GMO and ideal for packaging dry products, including powders, cereals, dry snacks, chips, and packaging for butter and fresh cheese.
Paper serves as an eco-friendly alternative for PET in the printable surface layer, offering a natural appearance and higher renewable energy content. Whether with or without a spout, this packaging is suitable for both hot and cold filling.
Our paper pouch is available in various specifications, each featuring different percentages of biomaterial.
The tethered caps stay attached to the spout after the pouch is opened and during use. Gualapack has developed this sustainable cap solution to comply with the EU Directive 2019/904 on reducing the impact of single-use plastic products on the environment.
The tethered cap can be installed on all Gualapack filling lines with a dedicated cap kit (available for new and existing lines). The cap is made of polypropylene and/or polyethylene and can be used for hot filling, cold filling and retort. It fits all Gualapack pouches with an 8.6 mm spout. We offer three different options with tethered cap solutions: Standard Cap, Mood Cap and Animal Cap.
